Four honest conversations a year about the numbers.

Advisory here is not a strategy deck. It is a quarterly sit-down where we go through what the business actually earned, what it cost, and whether the thing you are considering — a hire, a second site, a price rise — is affordable this year or next.

Which structure is the conversation likely to point at?

Four questions, answered in about thirty seconds. It gives you a direction to bring to the first meeting, not an answer to act on.

Indicative direction

Sole trader

One owner, modest turnover, low risk work.

Indicative only, and not advice. Four questions cannot see your contracts, your risk or your family situation — the real answer needs a conversation, and about a third of the time it is “stay as you are for now”.

When advice is actually worth paying for

Four cases
  • You are about to hire

Whether the next person pays for themselves, what turnover they need to cover, and how many months of runway the decision needs behind it.

3 mthsminimum buffer we recommend before a hire
  • Your prices have not moved in two years

What each job, service or menu line actually contributes once wages and materials are in. Usually one or two lines are quietly losing money and one is carrying the business.

  • Cash is tight in a predictable month

A thirteen-week view of money in and money out, including tax and super set-asides, so a quiet February is something you plan for rather than survive.

  • The structure no longer fits

Whether your current setup still suits, what the year-end position looks like from here, and what could reasonably be brought forward or deferred.

Below a certain size a single annual session does the job, and we will say so. We would rather sell you one meeting you use than four you resent.

Questions we get asked

Sometimes not, and we will say so. Below a certain size the pricing review is the valuable part and a single annual session does the job. We would rather sell you one meeting you use than four you resent.

No. We are accountants, not licensed financial advisers. We will talk about the tax consequences of a decision and tell you plainly when you need someone licensed for the rest of it.

Yes. The first quarter is quoted on its own, and there is no ongoing commitment if it is not earning its fee.

Alice runs most advisory sessions, with Tom in the room when the questions are payroll or rostering heavy. You are not handed to someone new each quarter.

The other three things we do

  • Tax returns and BAS

Individual, sole trader and company returns, plus quarterly BAS lodged on time. We reconcile first, ask questions second, and tell you what you owe well before it is due.

5 daystypical turnaround once your records are in
  • Bookkeeping and payroll

Monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, supplier payments and payroll for small teams — including super, leave balances and end-of-year finalisation.

14thof each month your accounts are closed
  • Company and trust setup

Setting up a company, family trust or partnership properly the first time — registrations, governing documents and a plain-English explanation of what you have signed.
